Gunners from the 32nd Regiment based at Roberts Barracks, Larkhill, Wiltshire, are preparing to be shipped out to the Middle East as part of a land force next week. A large battery group and a regimental headquarters of some 340 men and women will be involved. They will be manning the Phoenix UAV surveillance and target system. An Army spokesman said: "Its real-time thermal imagery capability has proved of considerable benefit in a wide variety of tasks including campaign analysis and safe surveillance over mined and inaccessible terrain." |
