Source: Mine Awareness

In recent years, there has been an increasing awareness and activism on the controversial issue of landmines.

Horrific stories and pictures from all around the world show that it is mainly civilians who are the landmine casualties-and continue to be so years after the warring factions have left the battlefield (with the mines still there).

'Throughout 2010 the Mines Awareness Trust (MAT) will be running Mine Action and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) training courses in Kosovo.

The courses are compliant to International Mine Action Standards (IMAS) and begin with the entry level Field Technical Advisor/ EOD Level 2 course.

The courses are four-weeks in duration and students learn the skills required to enable them to seek employment in the Commercial and Humanitarian Mine Action industry.  Information on MAT's courses, their dates and the course syllabus can be found on the MAT website
