Embarking on the Three Peaks Challenge on September 16, the squad will begin their adventure at Ben Nevis in Scotland before progressing to the heart of the English countryside to conquer Scarfell Pike. Finally they will press on to Wales and Snowdon.
Mr Dowling – who has worked in the aviation industry for the past 12 years – admitted that the challenge would be arduous but said the team are resolute and determined.
The 30-year-old, who raised nearly £3,000 for Children with Leukaemia in the London Marathon, added: “To be honest I am more usually known for sedate sports such as golf and cricket.

The 30-year-old said the squad had been inspired by the courage and determination of wounded British soldiers as well as the outstanding work of Help for Heroes.
He added: “We wanted to do our bit to help, particularly as we have friends who are serving in the Armed Forces, and this is our opportunity to raise some money.
“The team will be doing all the driving between the three locations and we are even camping after we finish on Snowdon in a bid to save some money.”
