'My Boyfriend The War Hero'

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Triple amputee war hero Craig Wood is to have his powerful story told on TV.

The Rifleman was 18 when he lost both legs and part of his left arm to a Taliban bomb in Helmand, Afghanistan, last July - just 12 weeks after being sent to war.

BBC3 cameras followed him and fiancé Vicky Swales, 16 - depicting their daily struggles in Doncaster, South Yorks, and his battle to walk again using prosthetic legs.

A spokesman for the film, called My Boyfriend The War Hero, said: "Despite her youth, and the tremendous responsibility she's taking on, Vicky remains desperately in love with her fiancé.

"She has made a commitment not just to share a home with him, but also eventually to marry him."
