Marine Ben on Hike for Heroes

Tuesday, August 19, 2008

Source: The Sun Online

Hero Marine Ben McBean kicks off a gruelling 285-mile march carrying a stretcher to symbolise injured soldiers.

Three teams of ten squaddies will walk in six hour stints from Plymouth to the Tower of London in a bid to raise £55,000 for Help for Heroes.

Ben, 21, praised by Prince Harry after losing an arm and a leg, said: “People need to know about the injured, they are pushed aside and need more funding.”

The march began as a Brit soldier was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
